Hello EarthPol!

The Wilds and Wonders Update is here! We, the EarthPol Development Team, are excited to share Update Cycle #3 with you, bringing a wide range of new features, improvements, and long-awaited fixes to the server.

This cycle focuses specifically on rewarding exploration, adding unique systems that encourage interaction across the world, and resolving long-standing bugs that have affected player experience over time.

Update Cycle #3 is built around a simple idea: EarthPol should feel alive, connected, and worth exploring. Whether it’s traveling to new nations, meeting new players, using improved travel systems, or engaging with community-driven mechanics, nearly every feature in this update is designed to make movement, interaction, and discovery a natural part of gameplay.

For a quick overview of this update and its features, be sure to check out our accompanying YouTube video:

Below, we’ll break down everything coming to EarthPol in this update:

New Features

NationPassports

NationPassports introduces a brand new way to experience exploration on EarthPol. Using /passport, players can open a live travel log that records the history of every nation they have visited. This system rewards movement, tourism, and roleplay by giving players a tangible record of their journeys across the world.

  • A new “stamp” is added the first time you visit a nation.
  • Stamps occur when you teleport into or physically enter a nation’s borders.
  • Each stamp records the nation name and the date of your first visit.
  • The passport dynamically reflects sanctions or travel restrictions.
  • The passport is generated on demand and always reflects your current data.

Player Reputations

The Player Reputation system allows the community itself to define who is respected, trusted, questionable, or infamous. Players can give positive or negative reputation to others in a controlled, limited way that encourages social interaction, rivalries, and alliances.

  • Give +1 (Fame) or -1 (Infamy) to other players.
  • Limited number of votes per day to prevent abuse.
  • Unlock titles such as Trusted, Esteemed, Shady, and Infamous.
  • Reputation is entirely community-driven.
  • Planned future additions include leaderboards and optional badges.

Preference Management

A new centralized /preference system has been introduced that allows players to control how EarthPol behaves for them across multiple plugins. This creates a single place to manage personal settings that will continue to expand as more systems integrate with it.

  • Control chat mentions, pickup behavior, and other personal settings.
  • Used by multiple plugins across the server.
  • Will continue to expand as more features adopt the system.
  • One command to manage how EarthPol feels for you.

Channel Management

Chat on EarthPol is now fully customizable. Players now have significantly more control over which channels they see, how they receive notifications, and how they interact with the server’s communication system.

  • Leave or join channels with /channel leave and /channel join.
  • Use /channel list for a clickable way to manage channels.
  • Disable mentions and notification sounds if desired.
  • Fine-tune exactly what chat you see and what you don’t.

Special Bounties

Special Bounties add a new layer of prestige and danger to the bounty system. These high-value bounties reward hunters with something more than money — a trophy that proves the kill.

  • Killing the target drops the player’s head as a reward.
  • The kill must occur in the wilderness (not in a siege zone or arena).
  • Designed to make bounty hunting feel more meaningful and memorable.

TownyPorts 4.0 Overhaul

TownyPorts has received a major overhaul focused on reliability, clarity, and immersion. Travel is smoother, ports are easier to manage, and many long-standing frustrations with the system have been resolved.

  • Players can now travel between ports while mounted on horses, donkeys, or mules.
  • New commands allow players to:
    • Check if their town has a port.
    • See exactly where the port is located.
    • Properly remove or reset ports.
    • Use clear, clickable help menus.
  • Players are now guided to their port location instead of having to guess.
  • Ports are now stored more reliably, preventing them from deleting themselves.
  • A more stable long-term storage system for town ports.
