December 2025 - Closing the Year
Hello EarthPol!
Welcome to our final blog post of 2025. In this edition, we’ll share our latest December developments and community updates, while reflecting on the year and the many accomplishments we’ve achieved together.

Server Growth
December was a tremendous month for growth on EarthPol, far surpassing our original expectations. We’re thrilled to welcome so many new players into our community, each bringing fresh energy and creativity as we head into the New Year together. Whether you’ve joined an established nation or started one of your own, we welcome you and hope your time on EarthPol is as enjoyable and rewarding as it has been for all of us.
Below are some key performance indicators of the server's growth this month:
Website Statistics
This month alone saw a surge of activity related to our website:
Vote Statistics
We've seen great success following the implementation of the new Voting System that we discussed in our last blog post. Not only have we climbed significantly across every server leaderboard we’re listed on, but we also nearly reached 20,000 total votes this month alone. We’re incredibly grateful to our community for their continued support and willingness to help grow EarthPol to its fullest potential.
Community Highlights
Social Media
Among many contributing factors, we attribute much of this month’s server growth to the significant momentum across our social media platforms. In particular, our YouTube channel surpassed 1,000 subscribers and is on track to exceed 2,000 by early January 2026.
Several of our YouTube Shorts surpassed 30,000 views, with two recent uploads standing out at 225,000 and 150,000 views respectively. Beyond their strong performance, these milestones provided valuable data for our Content Team and set a new benchmark to build upon as we continue refining and improving our outreach efforts. Additionally, the EarthPol discord has finally surpassed over 5,000 members!
In 2026, we plan to continue expanding our social media presence with a renewed focus on long-form content. Several projects are already underway, including a new server trailer, a guide series for new players, and videos that highlight the stories of players and their nations across the server. Our goal is to build a library of evergreen content that will help us surpass the 4,000 watch hours required to enable monetization, providing an additional source of income to support the server.
While we understand that growth through long-form content may not be as rapid as Shorts, we’re confident in our direction. Our team has spent weeks refining their editing, scriptwriting, and on-camera performance in preparation for the year ahead.
Events
This month, our staff organized three exciting server events that brought the EarthPol community together in creative and festive ways.
Advent Calendar
For 24 days leading up to the holidays, players were able to log in daily and claim a special reward from the /advent calendar. Prizes included unique items such as a Sniffer egg and a Shulker Box, encouraging players to check in every day and celebrate the season together. The Advent Calendar was a fun way to keep the community engaged and reward consistent participation.
Winter Workshop Build Competition
Our Christmas-themed build competition demonstrated our incredible collective creativity across the server. After careful judging, Aarondale11o3 was declared the 1st place winner for their outstanding entry, which captured both the spirit of the season and impressive building skills.
Christmas Drop Party
The holiday spirit continued with our Christmas Drop Party in New York, where staff dropped over 10,000g worth of items at Rockefeller Center for players to collect. The event brought together 76 players, giving our community a chance to connect, compete, and share in the excitement of rare loot.
Developments
In 2026, we will continue focusing on progress with our two upcoming flagship projects: the SiegeWar Rework and Civitas, both of which are set to revolutionize the towny geopolitical experience.
Additionally, we plan to prioritize larger updates this year rather than the series of smaller changes we’ve implemented over the past few months. While development progress may not appear as rapid as before, we assure you that the work underway is critical. Our team is focusing on the technical backend, refining stability, and laying the foundation for both the SiegeWar Rework and Civitas. These projects have taken considerable time because they fundamentally transform SiegeWar and Towny, respectively.
Aerarium
Aerarium is our newest custom plugin, designed to give towns shared storage while providing a meaningful long-term goal to work toward. Getting started is easy with the /tv command. This is another EarthPol exclusive feature you won't find anywhere else! To learn more about Town Vaults and how they work, check out the Aerarium Guide.
Backend Upgrades
This month, we successfully migrated our website from an older VPS to a brand-new VPS, resulting in faster load times across the site. This improvement is especially noticeable on our live map, making exploration much smoother.
EarthPol Observatory
We were excited to launch EarthPol Observatory this month, an official server-owned and operated database/wiki for EarthPol utilizing our API that is focused on being lightweight and having fast and reliable loading times.
New Commands
In addition, we added a series of new in-game commands related to EarthPol Observatory:
/insights– Opens EarthPol Observatory./shops– (Work in progress) Track individual items, view prices, and find the cheapest shop and its location./players– View player town history, username history, balance history, and live activity stats on EarthPol./towns– Track a town’s nation history, balance, live activity data, and predictions for potential ruin or sale./nations– Monitor a nation’s activity, balance, and live nation-wide statistics.
EarthPol Live
For our veteran players, EarthPol Live may be a familiar name, formerly known as a community-run claims and news organization. This year, our team officially took over EarthPol Live and is dedicating resources to transform it into a full-fledged news distribution platform. You can explore the new website earthpol.live where a live feed of all news stories will be relayed and published on the website, making news far easier to track with our external platform.
We also have many exciting features planned for the near future, aimed at expanding the site’s functionality and ultimately providing the community with a comprehensive news experience.
Quality of Life Changes
/boatnow works in 1 block of water with air above it. (First time this code has changed in 4 years!)/fullbrightis now available to Premium users. This just gives you 1 hour of night vision, reissuing the command toggles it off./pingor/ping <player>will now display the ping or you or your target.
Looking Ahead
As we step into the new year, it's important for us to recognize how far we’ve come and to set our sights even higher. This year, we’ve built incredible things, solved tough challenges, and created a community we can all be proud of.
In this upcoming year, let’s focus on building upon that foundation by pushing our limits, breaking our own records, and supporting each other along the way.
One final note: Thank you. Truly, I am grateful to each of you for playing on the server and helping make EarthPol what it was always meant to be, a geopolitical sandbox where nations are built, alliances are forged, and player stories are written.
Happy New Year!
